NãmaSmaran 2011 is a Bhajan Utsavam that took place between 13^th and 17^th October 2011 at Mudaliar Sangam Hall, Bangalore. The 11^th year celebrations of Sri Purandaradasa Jayanthi and Sri Gopalakrishna Bhagavataswamy Jayanthi began with a Bhajan rendered by the ever so popular Sri O S Sundar Bhagavathar. On Purandaradasa Jayanthi, aastikas were blessed with compelling and traditional renditions of Thodayamangalam and a few Ashtapadis by Sri AVK Rajasimmhan Bhagavathar. The remaining Ashtapadis were impressively continued by Thanjavur Sri Thyagaraja Bhagavathar in his rich base voice. First day ended with Thiruvisanallur Sri Ramakrishna Bhagavathar tunefully singing Purandaradasa Krithis.

The weekend was power packed with performances by Dr R Ganesh Bhagavathar, Mumbai Sri Anand Bhagavathar, Smt. Savitha Sreeram, Manjapra Sri Mohan Bhagavathar, Vizhuppuram Sri Jeyatheertha Bhagavathar, Pudukkottai Sri Vignesh & Sri Shankar Bhagavathar, Smt. Vidya & Kum. Vijaya and Nangavanam Sri Manikanteswara Bhagavathar. In our continued efforts to honour Bhagavathars for their selfless contribution in popularizing “Bhagavannaama”, NãmaSmaran 2011 felicitated Brahmasri Bheema Rao Bhagavathar and Brahmasri S Pitchumani Bhagavathar (Thiruvannamalai) on Saturday, for being a constant source of inspiration to many a devotee for the past several years.

On Sunday, Sri Gopalakrishna Bhagavataswamy Jayanthi was organised. Apart from bhajans, Guru Pooja was conducted in the presence of H H Sri Sri Ramananda Saraswathi Swamigal to Coimbatore Brahmasri K V Nataraja Bhagavathar and Pudukkottai Brahmasri Narasimha Bhagavathar. This was followed by Sri Radha Madhava Kalyana Utsavam in Bhajan Style by H H Sri Sri Ramananda Saraswathi Swamigal & Erode Sri Rajamani Bhagavathar. On Sunday evening there was a grand procession with the photo of Pujyasri Gopalakrishna Bhagavathaswamy. This was accompanied with Nadaswaram, Veda Ghosham & Bhajans by H H Sri Sri Ramananda Saraswathi Swamigal, Erode Sri Rajamani Bhagavathar, Sri V Radhakrishna Bhagavathar, Nangavanam Sri Manikanteswara Bhagavathar & Sri Rakumai Bhajan Mandali, Bangalore. The vibrant, 5 days long program came to a glorious closure on Monday with Anjaneya Utsavam and Bhajans by members of Kalyan Nagar Bhajan Mandali, Bangalore and Udayalur Sri Kalyanarama Bhagavathar.
