Sri M K Narasimha Bhagavathar, popularly known as ‘Malleshwaram Murthy Maamaa’, is a household name amongst many as Asthikas in Bangalore. Be it a Ramayana Navaham, Bhagavatha Saptaham, Narayaneeya Parayanam, Radha Kalyanam, or Samashti Upanayanam, Sri Muthy would be found as the leading light steering the solemn occasions from start to finish with a touch of his uniqueness. The innumerable Name Yagnas arranged by him over a period of time have spread as far away to famous pilgrimage centres as Pandharipur, Udupi, Rameshwaram, Tirupathy to name a few.

Sri Murthy has been successful in popularizing many bhajan groups and Upanyasams. He is a leader par excellence and has so well-to-do strata of our community to conduct marriages, upanayanam and other religious functions. His requests for assistance for such noble causes get readily answered by philanthropists known to him. In fact, he organizes a Radha Kalyanam every month under the aegis of Punduranga Bhajan Mandali inviting different bhagavathars for the past 6 years or so.

His association at a very young age began with Sri Gopalakrishna Bhagavathaswamy and continued into a closer relationship with Sri Sanjeevi Bhagavatahaswamy. His attachment towards Sri Sanjeevi Bhagavathar was such that he organized and celebrated his Sathabhishekam with such pomp and splendor on a scale unimagined of. As a bhagavathar, he participated in all bhajans that take place in Bangalore and his presence can be distinguished with the energy and spiritual levels once can witness at the event. He received initiation to the Unchavritti Sootram from Bodhendra Saraswathi Swamigal Adhishtanam, Govindapuram which he dutifully carries out at most Bhajans in Bangalore. He has been honored by many organizations.
